Function / Content

This series consists of valuable and logged property located by the Search and Rescue teams working during the disaster response phase following Cyclone Tracy. Each record includes details of the item, where located and the signature of the officer concerned. Many of the items could only be located within an allocated searching zone, rather than a precise address. Items included in the log include cash, bank books, passports, jewellery, cameras, musical instruments and weapons. Survey, rescue and impact assessment is a task which continues to be led by Police, Fire and Emergency Services as outlined in the current Northern Territory Emergency Plan.
